How Much to Tip?

How much do I tip my pheasant hunting guide?
Tipping is similar to a restaurant, where 10% is a low end tip.  For a guided hunt, you are usually "tipping the dogs", which are owned by the guide.  A normal tip would be $20 per day, per person.  Obviously the guide is setting up everything and hunting with you for a low rate, and if he finds you the birds, you will want to make it worth his while.  Many out of state hunters have seen so many birds that they have tipped in excess of $100 per person, just for the experience.

How much do I tip my pheasant hunting lodge?
If your lodge is doing a good job, you will want to provide tips, which filter to the restaurant staff, down to the kitchen help.  Most hunters will tip the guides and dogs separately, but you can ask the question when you are there.  Tipping is similar to a restaurant, where 10% is a minimum, and for great hunts, many hunters will show their appreciation by tipping much more than the 20% for a good meal.
